Swaad Cafe

Designed for a business with a legacy of over 30 years, this café represents the brand’s evolution over the years. It is rooted in tradition, yet refreshed to reflect contemporary sensibilities. The space exudes a warm, rustic charm while maintaining a timeless quality that resonates with a new generation of visitors.

The design embraces an honest and exposed material palette, with exposed services and an open ceiling becoming integral to the café’s raw, urban aesthetic. These elements, rather than being concealed, are celebrated and seamlessly define the aesthetic of the place. The flooring patterns have been used strategically to create visual emphasis and guide movement through the space. On the west façade, perforated jali screens not only offer a striking design feature but also act as climate-responsive elements, filtering the harsh afternoon sun. Thoughtfully carved-out openings provide framed views, inviting customers to pause and enjoy the scenery beyond. The Mediterranean-inspired color palette further adds to the café’s inviting atmosphere.
