Zenwood Farmhouse

This farm house in Chennai, designed by WHYARCH, is crafted as a calm retreat where architecture blends seamlessly with nature. Every element of the home reflects a soft, grounded mood—defined by clean lines, warm materials, and an effortless indoor–outdoor connection.

The façade stands bold yet serene, with exposed concrete planes, vertical textures, and large glass openings that invite natural light throughout the day. The lush tropical landscape, sculpted greens, and stone-paved pathways add a resort-like ambience, making the home feel like a private escape within the city. Thoughtful outdoor pockets, from the shaded sit-out to the car canopy framed by greenery, create a dynamic experience as one moves through the site.

Inside, the house opens into expansive, free-flowing spaces shaped by a muted palette of grey, beige, and natural wood. The sunken living area becomes the heart of the home—comfortable, intimate, and visually connected to the outdoors through full-height glazing. Soft textures, earthy accents, and minimal furniture contribute to a soothing environment, while stone pebbles, warm lighting, and layered ceiling textures elevate the mood.
